SBDC-GVSU Fasttrac participants
Business Coaching & Consultant Projects
SBDC Small Business Development Center at GVSU
Facilitated start-up business training and education for aspiring entrepreneurs as a Kauffman certified Fasttrac trainer over a multi-year contract. Participating clients received coaching to create a comprehensive business plan.
Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women
Provided coaching services to emerging business owners in the areas of Marketing, Sales, Management and Finances over a multi-year contract.
Non-Profits
Provide strategic planning for new organizations including operations, processes and systems.
Independent Business owners
Coach and consult emerging business owners toward solutions using a strategic planning approach focused on operations, marketing, sales, team management and building.
Financial Coaching, Consulting and Education
Corporate organizations
Built and facilitated personal financial training workshop series for employees. Participants also received one on one coaching specific to their individual financial situation.
Non- profit organizations
Facilitated personal financial training classes for client’s, such as Home Repair Services Resources for Homeowners, ICCF, and UMCHouse, according to program objectives, including banking, budgeting , repairing and building credit, saving and investing and home ownership.
Schools
Provided financial education programs for K-12 student and college student programs as part of school administrator’s objectives.
Conferences
Presented as a guest speaker and break out session facilitator on the Good Life personal financial principles based on CFP standards.
Community organizations
Built and facilitated personal financial literacy events and programs based on organizational objectives.
Real Estate Development and Investment Projects
Wealthy Street Church
Inheritance Development advised Wealthy Street Church, a small majority black congregation. They were interested in renovating their historic 20,000 square foot building located in a gentrified community. We assisted the church in developing a renovation plan and attracting potential investors for their consideration.
Aspen Pointe
Inheritance Development purchased a 10-acre parcel in Kentwood, MI in 2014. This property became the site of the proposed Aspen Point project, a 15-23 single-family home community. As the project manager, we managed the pre-construction details including site plan, architectural renderings, financial feasibility studies and municipal requirements through the preliminary approval stage. As a result of the strong seller market, the development plan, and land were sold to another developer in 2021.
Albion Charming Homes
Inheritance Development is the project manager for the Albion Charming Homes project in Albion MI, near Albion College in the Harrington Neighborhood. We managed the completion of the capital raising and pre-construction details for this 4 lot development of single-family homes. Debt syndication was used to finance pre-construction costs and the syndicators were repaid within year 1.
Pearl Street
Inheritance Development is currently planning the Pearl Street project, a ground- up workforce housing project to be located in Albion, MI. The project is slated to offer one-floor cottage-style homes for sale and rent that will be ideal for senior residents to age in place as well as young professionals.
